My Client, an engineering and construction contractor are actively recruiting for a Civils biased Construction Manager to join their Rail division. They work closely with a wide range of clients, across a number of disciplines within the UK rail industry. Offering both design and construction solutions to the sector through their in-house engineering and project delivery teams.

Suitable candidates will manage the construction and engineering aspects of section work, liaising with the client and other departments (internal and external).

Candidate Responsibilities:

• Setting up of Quality Assurance and other procedures
• Management of resource levels
• Materials procurement
• Implementation and monitoring of safety and environment procedures
• Performance monitoring of construction activities
• Delegation of tasks to Senior Engineers and Supervisors

Candidate Requirements:

The successful candidates should come from either a construction or engineering background, ideally with experience of the UK rail industry.

• Graduate or HND with substantial experience, preferably within rail
• Some experience within a Discipline Manager role, or substantial experience in the absence of formal qualifications
• Ability to understand budgets
• Report writing
• Programming and associated software
• Experience managing suppliers and subcontractors
