Estimators for Large Overseas Civil Infrastructure Projects.

Staff Positions.

1. Civil Estimator x1 - The primary responsibility of a Civil Estimator is the oversight and preparation of detailed cost estimates including quantity take off, material pricing, crew set development, construction equipment and subcontract assessments

2. Indirects Estimator x1 - The primary responsibility of an Indirects Estimator is the oversight and preparation of detailed cost estimates, analysis and control activities for project and/or proposal efforts relating specifically to indirect costs on Infrastructure projects

Duties include conducting cost and price analysis, converting estimates into cost budget, preparing cost studies, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for civil-structural-architectural construction activities and inputs data into the estimating software utilising the appropriate code of accounts structure.

Participates with engineering organisation for establishing reporting requirements to include quantities, units of measure (UoM), growth allowances. Review data input for consistence and completeness of the data.

Processes cost estimates using crew-based approach including formation or crews for multiple crafts.

Assist with assessment and analysis of excavation and backfill operations and concrete operations relating to the Heavy Civil discipline.

Participates in scope and quantity reviews and provides recommendations.

Verify quantity take off, control tracking, reporting and forecasting for civil discipline.

Preparation of cost estimates for civil construction activities and coordinates the preparation of cost reports, forecast and progress reports.

Participates with construction on the application of installation rates.

Assists & Participates in the assessment and analysis of quantities and installation hours relative to other projects.

Assists in the input and maintenance of estimating metrics and applicable data bases.

Provides necessary inputs required for the establishment of common and contractor distributable costs.

Organise, present and input into project estimate plan specific to major efforts.

Assure estimate packages are completed as per approved procedures.

Perform analysis on received commercial data. Prepare cost studies utilising historical data, statistical analysis and cost and quantity comparisons, developing new techniques as required to meet specific needs.

Convert estimates into project budgets with execution team clearly communicating assumptions and rationale.

Familiarity with project controls processes and systems.

Assist projects in identifying scope deviations.

Analyse cost and price data from suppliers and subcontractors and internal cost and performance information with the ability to generate comparative data, historical costs and other metrics, as part of the cost and price analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction or Business Management, or other relevant discipline from an accredited university and/or a minimum of six years relevant work experience.

Advanced planning, analytical and computer skills.

Advanced understanding of Estimating core processes and procedures

Previous experience in a discipline estimating role is preferred

Sound knowledge and experience in EPC and EPCM estimating practices and methods, including demonstrated ability to organise, direct, perform, review and present cost estimating products with a minimum of supervision.

Demonstrated technical and practical understanding of engineering, procurement and construction methods and techniques.

Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability to present Estimating information to peers and senior management.

In-depth knowledge of applicable work processes and systems is desired.
