Senior Civil Design Engineer - UK Wide / Remote Working

The Role

• Using your technical and delivery skills, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of civil design packages for both core renewals and enhancement schemes. You will work closely with other disciplines to ensure a fully integrated design is achieved.
• Your duties will include production of designs from feasibility to detailed design, undertaking surveys, structure assessment and report production.
• You will have a background in civil engineering design, and an interest in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects within the rail environment.

Qualifications

• BEng / MEng or MSc degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Near Chartered status and corporate membership of the ICE or IStructE.
• The role will be varied, requiring a balance of relevant industry experience, technical ability, communication and stakeholder management skills. Essential criteria are noted below:

Essential Criteria

• Ability to produce high quality design documentation including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports and specifications.
• Good understanding of relevant design standards (e.g. Eurocodes, & Network Rail standards).
• Sound interpersonal skills and ability to converse with a wide range of clients, stakeholders and colleagues across a number of engineering disciplines.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to challenge ideas and embrace new methods of working.
• Keen to gain experience of multidisciplinary design.
