We are currently working with a leading consultancy based in the Birmingham are whom are looking for a Senior Civil/Highways to work on the HS2 scheme on contract basis. This is an exciting position in which youll be at the full front Engineering excellence and within the role you will contribute to engineering designs and preparing technical drawings, reports and specifications on multiple projects youll be involved in. You will be expected to work independently and proactively on all aspects of works, including alignment and drainage design from all stages such as concept to feasibility and through to detailed design and build. Reporting to the Highways Team Leader you will prepare technical, commercial and progress reports, programmes and other documents to monitor, control and report progress to our clients.


Initially this is a 12-month contract, which could be extended dependent on performance.  This is an immediate need and would be looking for candidates to start ASAP, but the said consultancy are willing to wait for the right candidate.

  
Job Requirements

• Experience of leading design teams undertaking design packages as part of a major highway scheme, or small to medium size projects.
• Solid experience in one or more areas of highways technical capability such as alignment, junction design, drainage, pavement, signs and road markings
• Experience in pavement design, both asphalt-based solutions as well as concrete and natural stone paver solutions for both pedestrian and vehicular trafficked areas.
• Experience Drainage design and flood risk assessment
• Ideally experienced in such software as Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Micro drainage, MX etc
