A leading Civils Engineering organisation have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and detailed UK Rail bias Temporary Works Coordinator join their project engineering delivery team to lead on the effective coordination and implementation of Temporary Work designs in-line with upgrade and modernisation programmes to our national Rail.

Our client is looking for the right experienced, Rail related Temporary Works Coordinator to join them on a Permanent basis to be based within Oxfordshire.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Site Project Engineer, you the Temporary Works Coordinator will be accountable for preparing design briefs for Structural Stability, Excavation, Permanent / False and Form Works and Utility diversion. With risk assessments and managing the procedures for the procurement of Temporary Works Design from feasibility assessment, detail design and installation, loading through to final removal, you will be accountable for monitoring progress on site whilst effectively coordinating all parties involved from design to construction and their particular interfaces with permanent works, ensuring that relevant constriction personal are aware of all methods, risks, sequences and limitations.

You will be responsible for compliance against CDM regulations, producing design briefs making sure all designs are compliant, assist in the development of ITP s and acquiring and issuing of Temporary Works Permits to load, strike or proceed.

As Temporary Works Coordinator you will need to produce and regulate programmes and schedules for the Temporary Works Designers and Checkers and assess their compliances against CDM regulations. It will also be your requirement to produce acceptable design briefs addressing ground conditions, services, contract drawings and restraints. It will be your reasonability to ensure that all designs are compliant and have relevant certification and that risk assessments are produced and if any amendments need to be made then these amendments are approved by the Temporary Works Designer and Checker.

Requirements:

It is envisaged that you will be sufficiently qualified within a Civil Engineering discipline and be adept problem solving and analysis, communication, planning and organisation. You will be a proven team lead and effective team worker and motivator. You will have a good business sense and very achievement focused.

Temporary Works Coordinator will possess the following:

  • Previous experience in a similar role working with a major contractor being that central point of contact between Designers and the Site Delivery.
  • Proficient knowledge of CDM regulations as well as Temporary Works and Structural code of practices within a UK Rail environment
  • Strong experience in conducting collaborative communication and effective close liaison sharing with Delivery Partners, Clients, Local Authorities and Key Stakeholders alike
  • Confidence within sub-contractor management and control, conducting reviews and audits, progress monitoring and quality checks experience


Being the appointed Temporary Works Coordinator you will possess strong working appreciation and knowledge gained within NWR infrastructure, therefore will have strong understanding of related policies and procedures and expectations of delivery.
