Job Title: Track Engineer / Permanent Way Engineer / Civil Engineer / Site Engineer
Rate: Negotiable - DOE
Duration: Ongoing - Circa 12 Months
Start Date: ASAP
You will be responsible for Civil Engineering and Permanent Way Engineering on a major rail project in the West Midlands area. Main aspects of the role involve:
Undertake design reviews to ensure they include all information to facilitate construction
Ensure pre-construction site surveys are undertaken and report to the design teams
Ensure Setting out Control points are verified & installed to facilitate construction
Co-ordinate site engineering teams to ensure optimum usage of onsite closures
Ensure the production of Task Briefs to for the engineering on site functions
Responsibilities
Undertake engineering integration for Civils and Permanent Way works during the design and construction periods.
Interpret survey information for feedback to the design and construction teams
Identify key, on site risks during design reviews and construction reviews.
Manage your workload, around the overall delivery of the project.
Identify correct and obtain the correct survey equipment for the works being undertaken
Ensure on site verification of setting out takes place and is recorded.
Provide input into design and construction meetings on a periodic basis.
Requirements / Desirable
Qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience in similar role
Excellent permanent way and civil engineering technical ability
Proven experience in various forms of slab track engineering and construction
Excellent knowledge in the use of the latest setting out equipment and the associated tools available
Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent organisational skills ensuring surveying and setting out requirements are completed prior to the site works commencing.
Ability to understand engineering dependencies across all disciplines involved in the project
Experience in liaising with Construction Managers on site ensuring the works are installed to the required construction tolerances.
Provide excellent leadership and motivational skills within the team. (Desirable)
Ability to work in a team environment with the minimum of supervision.
Ability to raise technical issues on site back to the design teams providing possible solutions.
Ability to offer up solutions during reviews.
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage workload ensuring successful project completion.
Ability to produce reports detailing engineering progress on site highlighting progress on site against the overall project plan. (Desirable)
