We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to be part of Network Rail's, Rail Innovation Development Centres (RIDC) team in Route Services. You will be a critical member of a team that are at the forefront of promoting technology and innovation in rollingstock, infrastructure, telecoms, electrical power distribution and much more.

RIDC is completely self-financing and in this critical role you will lead and provide support to RIDC's contract management and customer focussed commercial activities, along with supporting day-to-day operations, maintenance, renewals and project based work

Responsible for assessing the existing Commercial landscape and reviewing the impact on programme delivery.

Design and implement approaches which ensure the right outcome for the department.

Lead on Supplier integration with regards to relationship and cost impact.

Able to clarify the ability to terminate current contracts, working with programme finance leads to understand impact and realisation of any potential benefits.

Capable of renegotiating existing contracts.

Manage the impact of existing Commercial financial models.

Act as the primary point of contact between the incumbent Suppliers and the department.

Contract Length: 6 months - possible extension

Location: NR - Milton Keynes MK Central -2 days per week in MK, or Melton Mowbray depending on where the candidates lives.

2 test sites at Melton Mowbray -LE14 3JL once every couple of weeks and Tuxford Leicestershire - NG22 0NL (expenses covered by train travel, hire car or claim mileage)

Rail experience is preferred but not essential - Highways, TFL, or other industries considered
