Role: Commercial Manager (Rail)
Pay: £55,000 - £75,000 pa + Package
Location: Birmingham / Milton Keynes

We have been requested by our client to recruit a Commercial Manager on a permanent basis to work on a prestigious Rail project running from Bedford to Cambridge. This project is due to start construction later on in the year and my client are preparing to build a team to see out the project. The role will be originally based in Birmingham however the contractor will be moving office to Milton Keynes later on in the year.

Our client is a large tier 1 contractor with an excellent reputation across a number of sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful Commercial Manager to work on a prestigious rail project which is due to last a number of years.

Your duties will include:

• To lead and manage a team of commercial staff
• To be responsible for all verifications of outputs and activities within the quantity surveying team.
• Continuously check that contractors and subcontractors are working in good industry standards.
• Be a good communicator to internal and external clients.
• Negotiating Prices and Variations.
• Implement and update rigorous control processes.

In order to qualify for the role you must have:

• Previous experience in a Commercial Management role working on a large Rail or Civil Engineering project
• Experience working for a contractor
• Experience managing a team
• Longevity shown in recent roles
