Daily rate: Negotiable DOE
My client is currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager for a number of Middle East and Africa projects, the role will be based in Derby, UK.
YOUR ROLE
As a Commercial Manager you will provide leadership & guidance to the project teams within the Middle East and Africa regions, establishing commercial processes and procedures. You will also be providing leadership, governance, advice, guidance and support in relation to commercial topics within the project core team and wider organisation. This means championing the Commercial perspective in all aspects of project delivery to achieve business objectives.
YOUR TASKS
* Experience of leading and working with senior project teams on complex projects. Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
* Take on responsibility for a projects commercial performance. Developing the overall commercial strategy for the project and leading on contractual negotiations.
* You will have a proven ability to lead and mentor a team, implementing new procedures and strategies.
* Management of commercial and contractual relationships with customers, external partners and suppliers, including conducting negotiations and problem definition and resolution;
* Leading or supporting aspects of Risks and Opportunity process management;
* Maintain commercial control during project lifetime through implementation of contract management tools and procedures (including Requirements Managements, Documentation and external Change Management, and ensuring Contract Awareness) to projects;
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* Solid experience in the field of Commercial Contracts Management, Project Management in a complex commercial/technical sector, or possibly alternatives involving contractual interpretation and enforcement
* High level of commercial and business awareness while also detailed experience in contract management including diligent document control, reporting, drafting and preparation of claims and/or variations;
* You will have a proven ability to lead and mentor a team, implementing new procedures and strategies.
* Proven ability to conduct successful commercial and/or contract change negotiations with Customers and/or Partners at both project and senior levels;
* Commercial and/or negotiation skills qualifications and a good background with Project Management tools and practices are highly desirable;
* At least basic understanding of contract law, business accounts and accounting practices;
* Excellent communication, follow-up and stakeholders management skills at all levels;
* You are fluent in English and you have a degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Sales/Commercial, Law, or a combination of these.
