Commercial Manager - Rail
Day Rate - £400-420 per day on a PAYE contract
To be based on site in Central London at Liverpool Street Station.
Job Specification
To be part of a large project team providing effective project control to ensure that the design and management services on the project are delivered on time within budget to the client's satisfaction and to deliver the expected business outcomes and performance.
Responsibilities
As Commercial Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Effective commercial management of the NEC3 contract with a mixture of emerging cost, target cost and fixed price works
- Provision of Commercial Assurance activities, including contract administration, pro-active change management, commercial risk management and project reporting.
- Provision of Commercial management and quantity surveying support
- Provision of support and assistance to others on other cross sector schemes and commissions
- Management and support of the business Commercial Manager and Senior Project Manager
- Experience in Rail Infrastructure projects is a must
- Experience in NEC3 Contracts is a must

Experience in the majority of the following:
- Cost modelling
- Change management
- Identification, preparation, evaluation and management of claims.
- Drafting of contractual correspondence.
- Estimating / cost analysis for both contractor and employer
- Project Cost Management and challenges including accruals, cash flow and forecasting Construction programming Performance measurement
- Supply chain management
- Risk and contract management and assessing their impacts on project budgets.
- Assessing, valuing and agreeing target costs
- Providing commercial advice on the development of the target construction price and on any potential disputes as they arise.
- Supporting the procurement process and working with appointed contractors to improve forecasting and accuracy of scheme financial control.
- Experienced in the use of major standard forms of Contract, NEC and FIDIC Development and maintenance of systems for the performance monitoring of construction contracts and projects. Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to achieve 'joined up' service delivery.
- Proven experience of different types of contracts e.g. design, design and build and ECI contracts and / or multi-discipline projects would be highly desirable
Qualifications Essential:
- HND/Degree qualified
- Member of relevant professional body (ICES/RICS/ACostE/CIOB)
- Clean Driving Licence
