TXM are currently supporting a Rail Contractor who design and build railways all over the world to the tune of £ Billion per year.

Based on previous projects they have successfully delivered such as full design build project for the iconic Crossrail programme they have been awarded a number of high profile Rail Infrastructure works.

In order for these to run smoothly and at cost, they require an experienced Commercial Manager to play a key role in the delivery of these from their brand new North London offices.

As Commercial Manager you will lead and manage commercial activities within our project and its business relationships.

• Managing the forecasting, payments and cost capture on a multi-million-pound programme.
• Managing all commercial aspects including the preparation and pricing of contracts.
• Support the bid team and work with the design and delivery teams to ensure costs savings are successfully delivered.

For this position, the ideal candidate should have the following skills, experience and knowledge:

Essential:

Degree qualified, preferably in Quantity Surveying or Engineering (MRICS or equivalent qualification)

Civil/Rail Experience of over 10 years

5 years+ as a Commercial Manager

Demonstrable experience in Commercial Management

Extensive knowledge and experience of NEC3 suite of contracts with options A C & E is mandatory

Experience in procurement, supply chain and claims

High level of attention to detail The ability to work to tight schedules

Must be able to produce clear and brief instructions

Effective written and verbal communications skills with customers, colleagues and senior management

Strong presentation and negotiation skills

Desirable:

Significant experience of working within a generalist commercial environment

Awareness of industry issues

Experience on working with Network Rail or London Underground as a contractor will be advantageous but is not essential
