This is an opportunity for someone to join a leading supplier of railway who deal with infrastructure services, constructing and renewing all forms of Railways. The main purpose of the role will be to assist the management of future tender activity, business development, contractual risk, revenue and contract cost. You will be liaising with different departments to ensure control, cost, value for money and optimize revenue in a difficult business climate.

Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the team to deliver a pipeline of upcoming opportunities and tenders that will secure the future income for the team.
- Assist procurement with development of new sub suppliers for materials.
- To minimize the cost of doing business and ensure cost targets are met.
- Responsible for leading the team to maximise the revenue opportunities within the contracts, including uplifts, any contract variations and working with the delivery team to ensure contracts are delivered to budget.
- Establish and maintain rigorous cost controls including early warning systems.
- Lead engineering and operations to ensure project is delivered safely, at least cost and to optimal quality.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate must have experience of commercial management within the rail industry or similar. Understanding of the cost of doing business, risk profiles of contracts and the ability to protect company interests is essential.
Experience
- Knowledge and negotiation of railway contracts or similar.
- Experience of commercial management on multidisciplinary projects
- Proven experience of team leadership and proactive management
- Understanding of rail disciplines and interface management
- Understanding and ability to produce accurate contract cost models
