Head of Construction in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom

POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Head of Construction at ADComms is responsible for the physical delivery of all work across the rail infrastructure. The role is responsible for taking the requirements and developing a plan and associated works e.g. paperwork, to deliver the solution in line with client and ADComms governance.
  • This role will manage the onsite delivery team, delivering multiple projects and consisting of construction managers, engineers, Construction CRE’s, etc.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Activities/Elements

Managing, mentoring and facilitate the onsite team across multiple projects to deliver on time, on cost, first time right time with no H&S issues

Interface with the client and stakeholders during the planning and delivery phases

Review and input on delivery programmes, monitor daily project programme delivery status and act to recover programmes if issues arise.

Report of progress of programme the programmes daily

Ensure that the programme ties up all the delivery aspects e.g. civils, E&P, Telco, etc ensuring that the logic and times required drives productivity – driving continuous improvements.

Identify by project the resource requirements for onsite staff.

Promote safe working practices, ensure full implementation and compliance with safety.

Ensure that all required documents are delivered and approved in line with the programme requirements.

Manage and identify deliver risks to project delivery, cost, quality and health and safety.

Manage the monthly project reporting / meeting cycle.

Manage the KPI within the project delivery.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education level and/or relevant experience(s)

Relevant University Degree or equivalent further education and/or 5 years plus of relevant industry/sector experience.

Formal Project / Construction Management certification is highly desirable.

Strong command of the English language

Knowledge and skills

Full Understanding of NR project deliverables

Excellent know how in Construction Management processes providing contributions, which "makes the difference".

Effective construction management, including effective resource allocation within assigned projects.

The ability to evaluate, judge and decides on alternative options, effectively and accountably

Flexible cooperation with management and experts, inside and outside the company, driving team effectiveness and results

Ability to supervise and evaluate the appliance of function specific techniques

The skill sets to be able to drive the business in Coaching and Mentoring environment
