A well known International Contractor is looking for a Lead Contracts Manager to join a prestigious railway project. The Lead Contracts Manager will be responsible for the contracts and claims management team on a prestigious Railway Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Lead Contract Manager supports project management and the project team in providing clear and professional advice and support associated with contract risk and claim management to achieve excellence and success for the project.

What are my responsibilities?

†Leads the contracts and claims management team
†Provides support to project management - e.g. contractual correspondence, risk and claim potential assessment, claim strategy , formulation of claim proposals (own and third party) and claim negotiation, co-ordination with legal and commercial colleagues
†Identifies, analyses, prepares both in regard of claim production and claim defence
†Coordinates with scheduling team to confirm relevant events and demonstration of cause and effect on schedule
†Coordinates with commercial team to determine financial impact on claim events
†Drafts claim narratives to support claim events in coordination with own and technical team
†Assists in claim negotiation and settlement
†Aligns on claim risks and opportunities on a regular basis with offshore contracts managers.

The Requirements and pre-requisites include:

†University degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Law
†10+ experience in contracts and claims management on the part of contracting organisations
†Solid work experience in large complex construction/civil engineering projects, preferably in rail business
†Past experience of working abroad, preferably in the Middle East/ Saudi Arabia
†Excellent knowledge of contract law and general standard contractual formulations, experience of local legislation would be an advantage
†Experience of risk appraisal and claims management for projects
†Very good negotiation and presentation skills
†Excellent command of English
†Experience in management of teams
†Capable of working in a multi-national and multi-cultural team
†Being a team player.
