Samuel Knight Rail are currently recruiting for an excellent Rail experienced (Network Rail & London Underground) Estimator. Our client are one of the largest Principal Contractors in the country and have an excellent reputation.

We are seeking a candidate to be based in the Northern commuter belt of London - near St Albans. Ideally, the correct candidate would start immediately, but for permanent candidates our client would be happy to wait for notice periods etc to be adhered.

In a successful candidate, our client will be seeking candidates with following attributes:

• Experienced Estimator in the Rail industry.
• 3 years experience (Permanent PAYE candidates) and 5 years experience (freelance)
• Ideally dual Network Rail and London Underground experience, but minimum of one of these areas.
• Experience on both major projects and minor works contracts would be advantageous

On a daily basis, the responsibilities of a successful candidate will be:

• Putting together estimates, giving an accurate projection to the client for cost of products and work completed
• Overseeing spend on materials, man power and suppliers into our client
• Provide the costing for one time works, through to minor contingent & ongoing works
• Play leading role in creating tender deliverables and their method statements
• Use dual experience of site based work and quantity surveying
• All other duties you would expect from an Estimator working at a Rail principal contractor
