About You

As an experienced Rolling Stock Team Leader within the depot environment you’ll have detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of both EMU’s & DMU’s. With your excellent people management skills, you will ensure that the repair and maintenance of rolling stock is to schedule and completed to the required standards. You will ensure that all staff that report to you are fully conversant with the Health and Safety regulations of the depot, and you’ll have great knowledge of risk assessment, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH). You will also be required to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to set procedures.

The Position

Based at an Engineering Rail Depot, you will be one of the first point of call for the fleet maintenance team on shift concerning any issues arising for the repair or maintenance of the rolling stock on site. The role will be on a shift rotation basis of Days and Nights, 5 on / 4 off. With you electrical and mechanical knowledge within fleets, you’ll be able to find the root cause of issues arising, and rectify accordingly. You will also be responsible for the allocation and management of resources to meet the daily production plan, so clear decision-making experience is essential. You will also be responsible for the control of all depot operational movement of rolling stock.

The Requirements

• Excellent working knowledge of Rolling Stock maintenance and repair

• Minimum City & Guilds level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

• Supervisor's training courses
