Job Summary
Due to strong demand for our Overhead Line Electrification design services AECOM are currently looking for OLE Design Engineers at all levels to join our teams in London / Swindon / York.

As an Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) Engineer you will be involved in the design of the overhead contact system that provides continuous traction power to trains.

You will have knowledge of different aspects of the design of the Foundations; Steelwork and Wiring.

You will have experience and knowledge about the critical interfaces with both track (permanent way) and lineside structures.

You will know the variety of Network Rail Standards, Group Standards, British / European Standards and Railway Safety Principles and standards which dictate the requirements and tolerances of the design that will need to be undertaken.

You will be able to carry out or review conceptual design and detailed design on a wide variety of OLE projects, as well as being tasked with checking of drawings, calculations and reports for outline and detailed design commissions. You will work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary project team.

You will be responsible for supervising work, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard and that it is managed to programme and budget.

You will responsible for the technical development of members of staff within your section.
Minimum Requirements
-
Proficient in the use of Microstation CAD system and Microsoft Word and Excel

Previously acted as CRE for OLE design would be preferred
Preferred Qualifications
-
BEng or BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent preferred.

Hold a HND Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (minimum) or equivalent.

OLEC1 is preferred.
