Job Summary

Due to strong demand for our Overhead Line Electrification design services AECOM are currently looking for OLE Design Engineers at all levels to join our teams in London / Swindon / York.

• As an Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) Engineer you will be involved in the design of the overhead contact system that provides continuous traction power to trains.

• You will have knowledge of different aspects of the design of the Foundations; Steelwork and Wiring.

• You will have experience and knowledge about the critical interfaces with both track (permanent way) and lineside structures.

• You will know the variety of Network Rail Standards, Group Standards, British / European Standards and Railway Safety Principles and standards which dictate the requirements and tolerances of the design that will need to be undertaken.

• You will be able to carry out or review conceptual design and detailed design on a wide variety of OLE projects, as well as being tasked with checking of drawings, calculations and reports for outline and detailed design commissions. You will work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary project team.

• You will be responsible for supervising work, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard and that it is managed to programme and budget.

• You will responsible for the technical development of members of staff within your section.

Minimum Requirements

• Proficient in the use of Microstation CAD system and Microsoft Word and Excel

• Previously acted as CRE for OLE design would be preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent preferred.

• Hold a HND Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (minimum) or equivalent.

• OLEC1 is preferred.
