To support the General Manager Rolling Stock and team to formulate maintenance strategy and manage and control all Rolling Stock related quality, performance, reliability, training and technical documentation activity.
The following are essential requirements for this role:
* Reliability: Manage reliability growth projects with clear KPIs in terms of lost departures, customer-facing regime and mean distance between failures or maintenance actions.
* Quality Assurance: Regular auditing of trains for quality of maintenance by using a Minimum Acceptance Criteria (MAC) scoring system and regular audits of critical suppliers.
* Monitors adherence to the standards/contract and recommend changes to optimise performance and whole life costs.
* Sets up a robust warranty return process for components.
* Assists with ISO 55000/PAS 55 development for Rolling Stock where required.
* Develop and maintain training plans to ensure the professional development of all engineers within the Rolling Stock team.
* Custodian of the MTIs and all the relevant technical information.
Essential
* Educated to graduate level, with excellent analytical and prove engineering management skills.
* Qualified railway engineer.
* Significant experience in at least one railway discipline.
* Excellent Leadership and influencing skills.
Desirable
* Working knowledge of product processes.
* Capable of communicating at management and operative level.
* Chartered Membership.
* Knowledge of the ALARP principle.
