Role: Locomotive Service Engineer

Location: Loughborough (though will be required to travel to various parts of UK, e.g. Tonbridge and Edinburgh).

Start: ASAP

Duration: Permanent

Working hours:NOT a Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00 role. Candidates will be expected to work 7 days if required.

This role will be performing Electrical fault finding on various Locomotives for a major UK rolling stock company.

Essential Skills:

- Candidates must have Locomotive experience.

- Candidates must be able to perfrom electrical fault finding.

- Ideally be familiar with the following locos:

• Class 73
• Class 37
• Class 57
• Class 43
• Class 92
• Class 66
• Class 90

Desirable Skills:

- Knowledge of DMU’s is advantageous.

Ideally, candidates will be familiar with all on board system:

OTMR (On-Train Monitoring Recorder)

Fire systems

TPWS/AWS (Train Protection and Warning System)

Brakes

Engine (mechanical and control systems)

Training will be provided to suitable candidates to familiarise them with either systems or Locomotives with no experience on.

This role is based in Loughborough, although this is not a pre-requisite as they will be expected to travel the length and breadth of the country (Currently most likely to be Tonbridge in the south and Edinburgh in the north).

Salary is negotiable dependent upon experience but circa £32,500 per annum + OT at flat rate with an estimated OTE of approx. £45-50k per annum. This is of course subject to experience and qualifications. Company phone, laptop, use of company pool car and tooling will all be provided.
