Service Engineer (L3)

The Role:
Woring within rolling stock, this is a wide-ranging role providing technical expertise for the business. As a Service engineer (level 3), you will be responsible for primary defect repairs to in service units, including defect troubleshooting, defect diagnosis, work scope adherence and defect rectification. You will also assist with re-railing activities and liaise with external stakeholders in all duties where necessary.
Reporting directly to the SE5, you will carry out all engineering activities, including exams, defect rectification, modifications, and time-based maintenance packages and repair. About you:

Experienced in and mechanical and electrical maintenance on rolling stock

NVQ 3 in engineering maintenance, electrical, mechanical or equivalent

Hold a Technical Certificate in Engineering BTEC

Have intermediate IT skills and able to interpret data

Able to carry out first level fault finding and follow schematics and diagrams
Working here
A 35 hour working week, you will work 10 hours a day in a roster of 4 days on and 4 days off alternating between days and nights. Typical shifts are 8AM – 6 PM or 6:30 PM – 4:30 AM, with paid breaks. You must have your own transport to get to and from your place of work.
