The Company
My client is a leading provider of public transport, delivering services to over 900,000 passengers every day.
They operate across a large geographical area and manage the safety and performance of their services to ensure commuters and leisure-users reach their destinations on time.
They have introduced new fleets of vehicles and are increasing the number of services they provide to meet growing passenger numbers so have multiple vacancies for Service Operations Managers to join their busy 24/7 control centre in Crawley.
The Ideal Candidate
You’re the ideal Service Operations Manager if you have worked in a fast-paced operational environment where change is a constant. Your ability to process information, identify risk and quickly make sound decisions will be essential. You should have excellent communication skills, be highly organised with great multi-tasking capabilities.
About the role
The Service Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that train services operate as scheduled. As the shift starts, you’ll review the service timetable to identify any immediate issues that require action. You’ll then monitor real-time information and respond immediately to emerging problems. This will require quick-thinking, assessment of risk and sound judgement based on multifaceted data. You’ll communicate issues and solutions across multiple stakeholders within a matrix environment ensuring accurate information is relayed and updates on situations are constant. The Requirements
I have multiple roles and am looking for strategic thinkers with experience of leading operations where your assessment and decisions to rapidly changing situations has resulted in a successful outcome. You will need strong IT skills and be comfortable working shifts including days, lates and nights.
Package
