Design Delivery Manager / London / Up to £60K
Maclean Moore are working alongside a global leader in rail infrastructure in recruiting for an experienced Signalling Design CRE in London.
Purpose of the job:
To manage design teams in the safe execution of signalling design activities required to deliver signalling project works, whilst maximising the efficiencies associated with best use of standard design tools and procedures. Providing technical leadership to the design teams and interfacing to all forms of internal and external Project Management, Engineering, Commercial, Installation and Test disciplines. The role requires a proactive practical approach to resource management, often accepting CEM / CRE Design responsibilities. An ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues is essential.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
Lead a Signalling Design team in the delivery of major and minor project works predominantly acting as CRE Signalling Design, taking responsibility for the delivery of all aspects of the design solution.
Manage design team delivery performance ensuring consistency of design output and compliance with defined company standards, signalling principles, industry standards and client project requirements.
Provide an effective mechanism for design team management with clear communication lines, creating a sense of urgency to safely meet project timescales and budget expectations.
Liaise with the Signalling and Systems Design Engineering Manager and Planners to develop and maintain accurate delivery schedules and resource forecast.
Provide guidance and training for design staff as required, including identification of external training needs.
Represent the business at external client and subcontract meetings, ensuring effective interface management with design stakeholders, integrated with all associated company, client and 3rd party project disciplines.
Promote the best practice use of design tools.
Support the Competence Manager in the execution of the IRSE licensing scheme.
Support the Lead Signalling and Systems Design Manager and Signalling and Systems Design Engineering Manager in the management of the local design team activities.
Candidate requirements

Experience
London Underground Design Experience.
Signal/systems engineering experience in project delivery
Extensive knowledge of engineering interface with other disciplines, i.e. Civil Engineering, Permanent Way, Electrification and Telecommunications
Project Management and Finance Management
Resource planning and utilization
Training and development of staff
Knowledge of EN50128 compliance requirements.
