The role

As Senior Design Manager, you will assume responsibility for all aspects of the Design Interface (and trust me there are interfaces a plenty!) Managing a team of Assistant Design Managers and Coordinator, the Engineering Manager (and other senior stakeholders) will be counting on you to run a seamless Contractor Design process and assist on the successful delivery of a variety of Network Rail projects ranging from £500,000 - £5million in value.

Attention to detail and leadership is key, as you will be verifying Consultant designs to the satisfaction of the client and various Infrastructure networks, whilst also using your technical talents to look at constructability in partnership with the Project delivery team. Whilst doing all this you will also be mentored by some of the best in the industry, helping you towards Chartership and CEM status!

Although a Civil Engineer by background, as you know with most rail projects there are a multitude of disciplines involved; Signalling, P-Way, Electrification, Steel works and Bridges

Required Experience

If you are a Design Manager who feels you are ready for a step up, I want to hear from you! Or if you already operate at CEM level and want to work in more of a ‘close knit’ environment, please let me know. Ideally from a Civil Engineering background you will have an appreciation of railway systems and how it all fits together! – Tier 1 contractor background will be required due to the nature of the frameworks.
