DESIGN MANAGER - RAIL - YORKSHIRE & NORTH WEST - CONTRACT

Design Manager / CEM required to join a Network Rail Main Contractor to assist with 2 large projects, 1 project in Yorkshire, and 1 in the North West. The role of the Design Manager is essential in ensuring smooth running of the scheme from a design perspective. This role will suit an experienced Design Manager / CEM who has over 5 years experience in a similar role on a large scale rail project. It is essential that you have an excellent understanding of Network Rail GRIP processes.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Civil engineering or similar field
• Over 5 years Design Management experience
• Experience of working directly with site teams, providing expert advice and guidance on design solutions
• CEM approval from Network Rail
• Able to demonstrate an excellent track record of working as a Design Manager or CEM with a Network Rail main contractor

Duties:

• Overall accountability for Design Management and compliance
• Oversee and manage a team of design co-ordinators, CRE'S and other associated staff
• Provide support to Project Managers and Commercial Managers
• Management of the design process
• Development of design programme and other design controls
• Reporting to the Operations Director, providing progress updates
• Robust management of external designers and project delivery team
• Ensuring all construction methods are inclusive of all design requirements
