Design Manager - Rail

Contract - 6 Months

Rate £450-550 ltd

You will be responsible for the management of an externally appointed design house. You will be overseeing a multi disciplinary rail project incorporating OLE, M&E, Plant, Signalling & Track.

Whist the project is multi disciplinary your role will be to managed the design process , data and set and managed key performance indicators for the thirst party design house.

Duties will also include:

3 PRE-CONSTRUCTION:

• Monitor the project design programme and develop and maintain design control tools to aid monitoring.
• Support the designers Engineering Manager through the ‘Design Approval Process’ including technical submissions and written approvals
• Establish the status & content of the contract design & technical documentation.

4 CONSTRUCTION

• Responsible for ensuring that company design management standards and procedures are implemented and adhered to
• Review and monitor progress to ensure the project design is delivered in accordance with the programme
• Responsible for the compilation, review and submission of KPI data.
• Chair project design meetings, producing minutes and issuing
• Monitor the design programme and other design controls

5 POST CONSTRUCTION

• Ensure that the final status of all design & technical project documentation is recorded.
• Ensure that the final design & technical project documentation is filed and distributed for project closure.
• Monitor the defects period for ‘Value Engineering‘ options performance
• Attend the project close out audit as required
