We have positions for ETCS Systems Engineer’s and ETCS Design Engineer’s in Hertfordshire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire or Birmingham. The Client is looking for the candidates to support the ECML ETCS Tender submission.

An immediate start is available and the contract will be until the end of January 2019 (extension could be possible). The role is office based but will require travel regularly to other office locations (in the UK and possibly abroad) as well as project/site offices related to your project responsibilities.

There is also an exciting opportunity for an ETCS Systems Engineer to work permanently in Australia.

The Client is requiring all Engineers to have experience of ETCS Level 2 Trackside System Engineering Implementation.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is essentially a System Engineering role, with the primary goal and objective of leading project / product system and / or sub-system design specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The definition, specification, analysis and development of ETCS signalling systems;
• Their integration and test;
• The realisation of tenders for local or international projects;
• The introduction of new product developments;
• The generation of verification evidence for the system design;
• The improvement of specifications for the incorporation of new functions / specified requirements;
• The application of the concept of the system evolution (mainly in terms of maintenance and implementation of a new or adapted product line);
• Work in collaboration with Safety / Project / Tender / Engineering teams (as required);

ESSENTIAL

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or significant demonstrable railway signalling industry experience;
• Systems Engineering knowledge and skills, ideally within the railway signalling domain;
• Demonstrable understanding of railway signalling principles;
• Demonstrable understanding of ETCS principles and system architecture;
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills;
• Rigorous, analytical and systematic approach to work tasks;
