Are you an Electronic Hardware Design Engineer, with at least 4 years' experience electronics design, who is either interested in getting into contracting or is looking for a new contract?
Ford & Stanley Interim are working with one of the UK's most interesting engineering services business who offers contractors long term security across multiple clients and industries, providing variety, ongoing professional relationships and engineering challenges.
With a business model that is going to challenge traditional UK Engineering consultancies, my client offers engineering support to its customers which places a priority on having locally based experts who can represent their organisation in a positive way, ensuring that their integrity and capability is always held in high regard.
The roles include general electronics hardware design, mixed-signal and high-speed digital designers, power electronics designers, microwave and radar and antenna designers. We also have openings for production support engineers for new product introduction.
We have multiple vacancies for Hardware design engineers of differing backgrounds and abilities to provide services to one of QuEST major UK aerospace clients.
This particular contract is going to be an initial 6-month contract working in the aerospace sector and is highly likely to roll over for a minimum 12-month period but should extend beyond that.
Job Responsibilities:
Will vary by role but will include some or more of the following skills:
- Support customer design team
- Support to manufacture
- Support to development tests, calibration and validation
- Technical assessment of system/ sub-system
Mandatory Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
- Electronics design in any of the above roles; the high-speed digital designer roles require experience with multi-gigabit interfaces. Mixed-signal design includes complex analogue and digital sub-systems. Power electronics designers should have both isolated and non-isolated power design experience.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Good Communication in English (oral & written) & Interpersonal skills
- Good experience in writing technical documentation
- Familiar with current industry standard CAD tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience of solving problems in a design and development context
Qualifications
- 2:1 or better Electronics Engineering degree or related science
- Experience in electronics design and development projects preferably in the same area
- The ability to able to obtain SC clearance is required.
- Current valid SC clearance would be an advantage
