We are currently working alongside an established global civil engineering group, who are looking for a Highways Design Technician to join a newly created Highways Design Team in the North West. This is an excellent opportunity to work on behalf of a major consultancy, contributing to Highways England projects, including major roads improvements and renewals.
The successful Highways Design Technician would be expected to assist with the preparation of technical solutions to engineering problems as a member of the Highways Design Team. You would be responsible for the preparation of detailed design drawings using industry standard software and in accordance with approved design procedures and systems. The Highways Design Technician would be expected to be flexible enough to undertake a number of engineering duties, including but not limited to; scheme investigation, site inspections, data collection and analysis, feasibility studies, and preliminary and detailed design works.
The successful Highways Design Technician should be proficient in the production of engineering drawings using industry standard software, and would ideally have experience in the production of drawings for highway maintenance, highway improvement, and highway structures schemes. They should also be able to work effectively as part of the Highways Design Team, liaising with colleagues to achieve the best results.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Highways Technician to join an exciting team, or for an ambitious junior Highways Technician to progress within their career.
Job requirements:
- HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Competent in the use of AutoCAD
- Experience working to UK highways standards
- Proficient in the production of engineering drawings
