About the role:
The Network Design Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting installation design and installation of the Communication and Central Control System to be delivered for the Sydney Metro Northwest Project. Your knowledge of Huawei network equipment would be a great benefit, however not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for providing key support to Network installation and support and lead the Network Set-to-Work.
- Coordination with System Interface Managers & Test Team to ensure Network based Communications systems are successfully integrated
- Provide technical support to the installation contractor teams during site implementation for fast resolution of any Network construction issues encountered.
- Inspection on the quality of Network installation and raise any non-conformances to the installation sub-contractor if necessary.
- Seek and ensure all Network non-conformance during installation are corrected before transitioning to the Test and Commissioning Team and support the production of as-built Network & Cable drawings post install.
- Support the transition activities between the Install team to Test and Commissioning and Maintenance
Key Skills and Experience:
- Degree of Engineering in the field of Telecommunications/ Electrical/ Network
- Experience in leading and/or participating in installation of large scale networks with a minimum of 2+ years experience in a relevant engineering organisation.
- Experience identifying, assessing & addressing Telecommunications & Network issues relating to installations of cabling and equipment in greenfield sites.
- Understand the relevant standards associated with Network installation design for the system to be delivered
Special Requirements/Disclaimer:
- You must be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
