Project Manager - Rolling Stock Maintenance – 2 yr FTC – Cheshire - £ <phone number removed> per annum + benefits
You’ll be responsible for project managing all aspects of specific heavy maintenance contracts at the depot. You’ll be accountable for the successful mobilisation, deployment and commercial delivery of all aspects of heavy maintenance projects, including classified repair, overhaul and refurbishment projects.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Mobilising and preparing for new projects, including development of deliverables such as resource plans, work breakdown structures, tooling requirements, risk register, Bill of Material(s), Specification Review
- Developing effective internal and external working relationships that deliver all key elements of Heavy Maintenance contracts
- Recruiting, retaining and developing appropriately skilled teams, and undertaking performance appraisals with direct reports
- Ensuring all work undertaken is in line with customer, technical and legislative standards and specification(s), and done so in a timely manner
- Delivering proactive customer management, identifying and developing possible opportunities for maximising revenues and cost savings
- Providing management information and Key Performance Indicators
Requirements:
- Proven project management experience, with previous involvement and understanding of rail vehicle heavy maintenance activities
- Ability to effectively lead a team of people and interface with the executive team
- Proven experience of using production efficiency tools and techniques and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to manage labour, services and materials
- Ability to work independently and problem solve, in a wide variety of project delivery situations and against planned delivery dates
- Excellent attention to detail with superb organisation and time management skills; and with strong analytical techniques
- Excellent IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP
- A full UK driving licence
- A relevant, professional engineering qualification in engineering, people management training and/or professional membership of IMechE / IET would be highly advantageous, however not essential.
