This is a superb opportunity for a professional and knowledgeable Lead P-Way Design Engineer to offer their skills to an established Rail infrastructure development engineering organisation who are engaged on a series of enhancement and development schemes for the further development and upgrade of our national railway. This long term contractual opportunity is to be based in the Yorkshire area.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Being the Lead P-Way Design Engineer, you will be accountable for leading, directing and undertaking a wide range of P-way designs (layout, alignment and track form) together with carrying out feasibility studies, analysis, inspections, planning and costing and other railway civil engineering technical activities within the project remits, but bias to P-Way!

As the Lead P-Way Design Engineer, you will be accountable for the management and control of a team of Design Engineers. Helping leading multi-functional railway projects and overseeing and coordinating work packages undertaken by other technical groups.

Also, as the appointed Lead P-Way Design Engineer, you will provide specialist technical support on all Permanent Way aspects, maintain existing and develop relationships with new clients whilst also assisting in the preparation and development of tenders and bids

Requirements:

It is envisaged that the successful Lead P-Way Design Engineer will be Degree Qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with extensive experience of technical aspects of P-Way within the UK main line sector.

You will possess the relevant knowledge and skills in track and railway civil engineering planning, design, specification, construction/renewal, maintenance and installation operations.

You will be commercially strong, with well-developed technical knowledge of Permanent Way design and related P-Way design tools, such as Bentley RT, MX Rail, Mircostation, etc

You will have the experience and ability to effectively motivate and lead a team to ensure quality design are delivered as per the contract requirements.

You will also need to be able to demonstrate significant track record of interaction with clients, delivery partners and stakeholders whilst leading technical delivery of Rail trackside infrastructure.
