We are currently looking for a Rail Civil Design Lead or Civil Design Manager to be based in Birmingham in which you will be responsible for driving and leading the design for phase Two of HS2. 

Within the position you will be co-chairing the Engineering Cross Consultancy Meeting with the Rail Civil Engineering Manager and act as risk champion jointly with the Rail Lead Civil Engineering Manager ensuring the consistent delivery of station designs that comply with relevant standards interfacing with the other core disciplines.  You will lead the area teams in 2a, 2b and NPR on the definition of design scope which includes the required investigations and support them in ensuring that the OIMD requirements are met by the hybrid Bill design and through into construction procurement.

As this is a Rail Civils Design Lead/Design Manager position you will need to have a broad expertise in developing multi-disciplinary designs within a rail environment working in a similar role on a major rail or infrastructure project within a multi-disciplinary design and delivery environment. 

Job Requirements

• Strong demonstrable experience within major Rail Civil schemes in which you have managed design packages interfacing with other core disciplines
• Understanding of engineering / design matters, reporting and associated risk management
• Ideally Chartered or equivalent demonstrable experience
