Target: Design Manager with a relevant engineering or architectural degree and a Chartered professional or actively working towards Chartered status; with experience and a background in design project leadership.

They are now looking for a Senior Design Manager to work with the current team of twenty however this is expected to continue to grow during 2017 in response to further exciting project opportunities for existing and new blue chip clients.
The team comes from a wide background, with architects, civil, structural and building services engineers providing who provide the team with internal expertise as well as a broad experience of delivering major projects to both public and private sector clients.
Projects can vary in size and complexity from £100 million to over £1 billion and can involve leading multi-disciplinary teams as the Lead Consultant, providing design management support to internal project teams as well as contract administration services and technical compliance teams.
The team's ethos revolves around the highest standards in professional ethics and quality of service; providing honest and constructive advice to build long-term relationships with our clients as their trusted advisors.
They are now looking for energetic, self-motivated individuals with a design project leadership background to join our team. They are keen to bring new skills into the team and are open minded about a candidate's background provided they can demonstrate relevant experience of hands-on, proactive leadership of design teams that delivers successful outcomes.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Candidates should achieve the following minimum requirements:
- Background - Ideally coming from an architectural or engineering design background;
- Qualifications - Relevant engineering or architectural degree and a Chartered professional or actively working towards Chartered status;
- Experience - Have appropriate and relevant post-graduate experience working as part of and coordinating teams on projects of a construction value greater than £100 million. Ideally this should include experience of working as part of a multi-discipline team;
- Location - Be London based but willing to work within the UK and internationally on short to medium secondments as the business requires.

- Communication - Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing as well as construct and communicate ideas in a persuasive manner;
- A team player - Candidates should be team players, willing to put others and the project first whilst still delivering their own responsibilities and actions;
- Planning - Able to establish project needs, including resources and deliverables, and to use these to develop a project delivery strategy and plan workloads for others;
- Negotiation - Able to negotiate; to find common ground with others and move projects forward obtaining an outcome which is in the interest of the business, its clients and acceptable to all parties where possible;
- People management - Experienced in coordinating teams, setting group and individual objectives and providing support. A motivator who leads by example;
- Project management - Regardless of the individual project role, candidates should understand and be experienced in applying the principles and processes of project management as commonly expressed by APM, Prince2 etc.;
