Job description

SPL Powerlines Group is delivering some of the largest and complex overhead line projects for Network Rail, due to increased workloads we are looking to recruit a Structural Engineer join our Design team.

Joining our team as a Structural Design Engineer, you will design for all types of railway overhead line structures and associated foundation design. You’ll be responsible for the preparation and checking of associated AutoCad structural drawings, calculations and overall design. Additionally, you’ll provide assistance with site inspections where required.

• All aspects of Microsoft Office.

• Recent experience of detailed design for a variety of Structural Projects, with the ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines.

• Industry standard structural design software such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer 19.

• Understanding and good knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes.

• Understanding and good knowledge of Network rail design standards.

• Familiar with OLE structural design and Network rail approved methods

• Commitment to producing high quality work and to promoting the reputation of the company.

• Commitment to continuous professional development.

• In possession of or working towards Chartership of the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers.
