Role: Structural Engineer / Project Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - £48,000
I am looking to place a Structural Design Engineer with around 5 years in industry in an engineering consultancys office in Kendal. The firm handles a range of new-build, refurbishment and ecofurbishment projects across a range of sectors including, but not limited to, residential, laboratories, hospitals, shopping centres, vibration-sensitive buildings, and more. The firm has been awarded Gold Accreditation by the Investors in People authority and takes its responsibility to professional development of employees very seriously.
The firms teams are growing in multiple offices and a position has become available for a Structural Design Engineer in Kendal with around 3-6 years already in a similar engineering design role, potentially having a project engineering background. Candidates are expected to have relevant industry experience across a range of structural design projects, with the opportunity to run their own projects almost immediately. This includes handling technical design, client meetings and generally ensuring project deadlines are met. The firm need someone who is confident in their technical design abilities using a range of software to design in RC, steel and masonry, with some timber projects.
The firm has an accredited ICE training program and multiple mentors who can help candidates reach Chartered Engineer status, for those that have not yet reached that level. Candidates may have taken a slightly different route and could be Incorporated already, or have relevant industry experience and are focusing more on their work instead of striving to reach Chartered status quickly.
The firm has heavily invested in BIM technology such as Revit, and people who join the firm are encouraged to develop their appreciation of operating at BIM Level 2 and developing 3D modelling capabilities in a range of settings via experts who have been using the software since its first release.
In return for the right skillset, the firm can offer a range of personal and professional development benefits, as well as Life Assurance, Healthcare schemes, Family-friendly working policies, a generous pension, and more.
