Our Client needs an AC Traction Power Design Engineer that can produce and check designs for AC switchgear comfortably.

You will be required to:

• Ensure that the project design team is best placed to deliver all Electrical AC, 33kV, 25kV and DC, SCADA, OLE, Earthing and Civil designs within time and budget whilst maximising the opportunity to identify additional work opportunities subject to Network Rail additional works process.
• Manage the development of fully compliant suitable designs to meet the requirements of the contract.
• Have overall responsibility for the management of the preparation of all designs and technical reports.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY / TASKS

• Responsible for the production and development of the Contract Design submission documentation
• The post holder would also undertake the role of Contractors Appointed Engineer (CRE) in accordance with the requirements of Network Rail regime.
• You'll manage, control and coordinate the programme of design works to time, scope and budget, ensuring all safety, quality and environmental requirements are met.
• The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the project design team is best placed to deliver all Electrical AC, 33kV, 25kV and DC, SCADA, OLE, Earthing and Civil designs within time and budget
• He will be responsible for engaging and instructing design engineers to provide a first class design service to the construction teams
• You'll be required to work closely with the Project Managers and all third-party designers to ensure an integrated design solution is presented for this project.
• The Senior Design Engineers shall be required to have a good understanding of H, S, E and Q legislation and procedures and incorporate them into the design

Experience needed:

• A minimum of 10 years experience and knowledge of relevant engineering disciplines.
• In Depth Knowledge of Network Railway Electrification Infrastructure.
• Demonstrable AC and DC electrification design experience
• Organisational Awareness
• Energetic and hardworking individual with an ability to motivate teams
• Good communication and interpersonal skills be able to effectively communicate and report at all levels
  

This is a 6-month rolling contract with the option to work in either London or York.
