Document Controller - Engineering Assurance
Location: North West
What is the purpose of this role?
To provide administrative, documentation and clerical support to the Contract and Project Management Teams.
What will this role involve?
- Assist with the management, production, issuing and distribution of Project documentation, including controlled documents such as Work Package Plans, Inspection & Test Plans, Task Briefing Sheets, Specifications, Drawings, and records of transmissions retained.
- Enter and update entries into relevant Document Management Systems.
- Ensure Quality Control and Asset Management documents are retained and protected from loss of integrity, loss of confidentiality and improper use.
- Provide tutorial briefings on the usage of the tools/applications used by the Project Team i.e. Bentley ProjectWise, MS Excel, MS Word.
- Assist in the production of reports, as required.
What are we looking for?
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Geographically mobile and preferably able to drive
• IT literate to a professional standard
• Pride in the quality and reliability of their work and outputs
• The ability to organise their tasks efficiently.
• When required by the Project i.e. during critical project (i.e. EiS) stages, be able/willing to work outside core working hours.
• Willingness to use, learn and adopt new database systems i.e AMP Ellipse, AMP GEOGIS.
About the Contract
TRU is a once-in-a-generation rail upgrade programme to deliver faster, longer, more frequent and more reliable rail services across the north of England, from Newcastle, Hull gand York towards Manchester and Liverpool via Leeds. By connecting the major cities of the North with an enhanced, more reliable service, it has the potential to impact the lives of thousands of passengers and support economic growth across the whole of the north of England.
Amey, in partnership with Arup, BAM and Network Rail is upgrading the route between Manchester and Leeds, which includes civils, track, railway systems and electrification. The opportunity to use modern digital signalling and train control also means we can lay the foundation for the Digital Railway.
