Electrical Control Room Operative in London, London, United Kingdom
The role of Electrical Control Room Operator is to ensure that the safe and reliable delivery of electrical power, signalling and traction supply to trains and maintain this supply at an optimum level.
Working as part of a small team you will be required to work to detailed electrical instructions and regulatory requriements, liaise with and direct response staff toward electrical incidents and emergencies as is deemed appropriate and ensure that power supplies are configured correctly as circumstances require.
You will be expected to analyse electrical diagrams and make cases for appropriate amendments, plan and effect electrical isolations acting as a direct interface with maintenance delivery units, liaise with HV energy supply companies to accomodate HV outage planning and alternative feeding arrangements as well as monitor via supervisory systems the overall status of the railways electrical infrastructure.
You will also be required to ensure the security integrity of the control is maintained at all times, be adaptableto continual competency assessment which includes the ability to absorb complex rules and elecrictrically oriented regulations.
This is shift work across a 365 days per year, 24/7 shift pattern including nights, weekens and bank holidays.
