Job title: Bids Coordinator - Engineering
Job location: Birmingham
Salary: £30,000 per annum
I am currently recruiting for a Bids Coordinator to join a client based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for the receipt, interpretation and understanding of customer tender documentation as well as the compilation of tender responses on behalf of the company.
The business is a leader in railway rolling stock engineering, enhancement and systems integration and provides high quality turnkey project and consultancy services to maximise vehicle utilisation and performance. With excellent rail engineering, production and project management skills; the company operates from design and engineering offices and from a range of project facilities to suit vehicle and fleet locations.
Required Skills and Experience
-Engineering/business qualification - desirable.
-Strong commercial capability.
-Experience within a technical, engineering and design bid environment.
-Excellent working knowledge of MS Word Power Point, Project and Excel.
-Excellent working knowledge of MS Power Point, Project, Word and Excel.
-Very strong spreadsheet capabilities.
-Experience of interaction at all levels within the business, customer and supplier base.
-Good knowledge of Project phases and timelines.
-Appreciation of working in a standards based industry.
-Good knowledge of business system, processes and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
-To ensure that bids are constructed in such a way that all deliverables and specifications are clearly defined and fully costed within the bid calculations for all components, systems and functional inputs.
-To ensure that bid submissions are created in line with both locally and where required by Group and its defined approval procedures, including the incorporation of the target financial cash flow and Gross Margin levels (as agreed during the bid Go/No-Go and approvals process)
-Responsible for the compilation of responses to customer PQQ, ITT and RFQ's.
-Responsible for ensuring functional inputs are accurately defined and requested in a concise and timely manner, including defining the nature of the information in tender documentation.
-Interaction of inputs and approval of them with Engineering, Procurement, Operations and Project Management.
-Development of the commercial inputs required to make a successful tender submission to the customer's
