CRE / Contractors Responsible Engineer in Newport, Newport, United Kingdom
CRE Civil Engineering required for major railway infrastructure project in South Wales on a contract basis, rates negotiable for the right candidate!
Initially on a 4 month contract this post will likely extend to the duration of the project, a big challenge but a great opportunity to prove your skills!
The CREs are the technical experts for their particular discipline. Their responsibilities with respect to Quality Assurance during the Construction process are as follows:
* The Construction CRE is integral to the design development process to ensure that the design as presented is safe, practical to construct and meets the desired engineering standards and quality requirements. CRE Approval is recorded via endorsement of the Detailed Design Document (Form B / F003 as appropriate).
* The CRE is responsible for ensuring the Construction and Installation teams follow the project approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) Process.
* The CRE is responsible for the review and approval of all input data used to populate the ITPs and review and approve populated ITPs following the completion of the works.
* The CRE is responsible for the review and close-out of all Non-Conformances (NCRs) identified by the construction / installation teams, ensuring that these are raised via the PTR Process and brought to the attention of the CEM.
* The CRE is responsible for the review and close-out of all Field Change Documents (FCDs) proposed by the construction / installation teams, ensuring that these are raised via the PTR Process and brought to the attention of the CEM.
* The CRE is responsible for the review and close-out of all Technical Queries (TQs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) raised by the Design, Construction and Installation Teams, bringing them to the attention of the CEM, and where warranted, converting internal TQs and RFIs to external TQs and raising to the attention of Network Rail via the PTR Process.
* The CRE is responsible for ensuring that any design or process change arising from any of the above process is duly relayed to the Construction / Installation Teams.
* The CRE will coordinate preparation of the discipline specific Entry-into-Service Certification and Hand-Back Records, endorsing ITP's, As-Built/As-Fitted Drawings, and Certificates of Conformity as accurately reflecting the works constructed.
* The CRE, with the support of the Construction Manager is to ensure that all staff who have a delegated responsibility to undertake a technical or engineering assurance role within their particular specialist discipline (ie. Completion of ITP documentation) are suitable trained and competent to perform their delegated tasks.
To be considered for this role you must be a Network Rail approved CRE (Contractors Responsible Engineer) for Civils Construction and have substantial experience performing that function.
