Role: Chartered Structural Engineer Associate Level
Location: Manchester
Type: Permanent
I am looking to place an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer to take up a role as an Associate Structural Engineer within a large, international engineering consultancys Manchester office. The firm has over 50,000 staff worldwide and operates in over 100 countries. This post is to combine technical engineering excellence with strong leadership and client development skills to oversee a group of Principal Structural Engineers and their respective teams. You will report to an Associate Director with extensive industry experience, with projects covering everything the industry has to offer across airports, high-rise structures, education refurbishments, healthcare/hospitals, and more.
The Principal engineers all have 10 years+ in industry and are all of a technical persuasion, so excellent technical leadership will be essential for this post. Likewise, clients will be high-profile, and most projects will be of a large scale, so being able to manage client relationships across high-value projects is another essential skill for this post.
This role is for someone who is an experienced engineer and manager who can support the growth of operations alongside the Technical Leads for Manchester and the UK. This will involve implementation of best practice strategies, managing client relationships and being accountable for the development of ongoing growth strategies around Greater Manchester.
This post is to oversee a large team of engineers, technicians and other team leaders. The firm has an excellent reputation with regards to BIM technology, so candidates should be well-equipped to provide direction and support in this area. Further, due to the nature of the post, Chartership with either the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) is a requirement for undertaking design assurance duties.
This position will be challenging, but those with the technical skills to manage this team alongside excellent client management skills will find an environment where they can thrive. This role would suit someone who is already operating at this level and is looking at stepping into a new post to face new challenges whilst developing a large team of dedicated professionals. The role will feature a large amount of responsibility and accountability. For those that have the ability and drive to take up the post, the firm offers a range of benefits tailored to your individual circumstances.
