Chester, United Kingdom |
£45000 - £55000 per annum |
Permanent
Role: Chartered Structural Engineer
Location: Chester
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000
I am looking to place a Chartered Structural Engineer in a multidisciplinary engineering consultancys Manchester office. This is an opportunity for someone already operating at Principal level and looking for access to a range of new projects. Alternatively, this opportunity would also suit a Senior Structural Engineer looking to take the step up to Principal level. The firm operates across the UK, Middle-East and Australia, with works valuing in the hundreds of millions of pounds.
Structural projects of note that the firm has completed include Imperial Wharf mixed-use development in London (£500m), Tees Barrage International White-Water Course, Lindisfarne Castle, Durham Cathedral (£10m) and The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre (World Heritage Site, £15m). The firm has also been responsible for a wide range of student accommodation, mixed-use high rise structures and commercial developments for numerous private clients.
The role requires chartership with either the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) as successful applicants will be required to check and sign off the designs from other engineers. You will lead your own team of dedicated engineers who have a broad range of experience and expertise, in order to facilitate the completion of multiple projects at once.
A broad range of both software competency and technical design competency is required for this role, for both structural design and structural analysis. Also, you may be required to help mentor more junior engineers on their journey to Chartership.
A broad knowledge of structural design is preferred, with the offices current projects including mixed-use high-rise structures, a range of commercial and retail projects, and education/University schemes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a broad range of experience in these areas, and will allow you to further develop your own skills and management capabilities.
