An exciting 4-month contract has arisen for an experienced CRE to be based in Newport. Working for a British multinational infrastructure group with capabilities in construction services, support services and infrastructure investment. The Project is the electrification of a 40-mile train route as part of The Great Western Mainline upgrade.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the design as presented is safe, practical to construct and meets the desired engineering standards and quality requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring the Construction and Installation teams follow the project approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) Process.
• Review and approve of all input data used to populate the ITPs and review and approve populated ITPs following the completion of the works.
• Responsible for the review and close-out of all Non-Conformances (NCRs)
• Responsible for the review and close-out of all Field Change Documents (FCDs) proposed by the construction / installation teams, ensuring that these are raised via the PTR Process and brought to the attention of the CEM.
• Support of the Construction Manager is to ensure that all staff who have a delegated responsibility to undertake a technical or engineering assurance role within their particular specialist discipline

Requirements:

• Qualified to degree or HNC level
• Background within the Civil Engineering sector
• Proven experience in the successful delivery of Rail projects and a sound knowledge of Network Rail processes and procedures
• Hold a current PTS card
