EMC Engineer in Croydon, Derby or Manchester, England, United Kingdom
We are working closely with a client of ours who are seeking an EMC engineer to ensure the delivery of consultancy services to major rail clients, aimed at ensuring projects are compliant with Electromagnetic Compatibility regulations and standards.
The role will be offered as a permanent fixture on a full-time basis. The annual salary is between £45,000 and £65,000.
Responsibilities include:
Being responsible for and/or support the preparation of EMC related assurance documents such as EMC Strategies and Control Plans.
Being involved in EMC site test measurements and other on-site activities.
Participating in EMC HAZID workshops.
Preparing and managing EMC hazard records.
Producing standalone EMC assessments to check the client requirements are met.
Getting involved in modelling work (e.g. induced voltage studies, calculate magnetic fields, etc.). The candidate will have to have the following experiences and skillset:
A good understanding of computer modelling techniques commonly applied to the analysis of traction power and associated EMC related issues.
A good understanding of the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC, UK EMC Regulations 2006 and supporting harmonised standards framework coupled with knowledge of DC and Low Frequency sources of interference.
A proven track record of successfully dealing with complex issues on both AC and DC traction power systems and their interfaces including interfaces between AC and DC traction power systems and interfaces between traction and non-traction power systems (HV and LV).
Be a Chartered Electrical Engineer or working toward Chartered status.
