Engineering Project Buyer

£35,000 per annum DOE

Project Buyer required for a World leading Rail Engineering organisation based in Milton Keynes.

The Project Buyer will responsible for purchasing of commodities and services required for and manage the operational relationships with suppliers associated with, specific production projects, in accordance with the sourcing strategies determined and led by the Head of Procurement & Logistics and as directed by the responsible Project Manager.

The Responsibilities and Role:

• Ensuring that tendering support and project implementation is completed in a timely manner against the project production plan, whilst maintaining all necessary quality specifications. Working within the defined project materials budget, whilst seeking to reduce total cost of supply through the application of best Purchasing practice. Minimising risk to the company arising from these activities.

• Accountable for purchasing activity in support of the Project Team and the establishment of project procurement plans.

• Key Performance Indicators as defined as part of regular one to one meeting

• Project Implementation plan – Tender to Implementation

• Cost Reduction Measures

• Supplier Approvals and supplier reduction targets

About you:

• Educated to Degree or equivalent and/or Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) preferable.

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a project driven manufacturing or service environment and / or membership of CIPS
