Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting experienced Fleet Engineers at Junior through to Principal level for a global rail organisation based in various locations across the UK.
The Opportunity
Our client - a global rail consultancy is renowned for their expertise within rolling stock. They are currently seeking experience fleet engineers to become integral members of the team that works across the UK and international rail industry to influence the railways and trains of tomorrow.
As a Consultant in the Asset Management team, you will be responsible for delivering high quality consultancy services to a broad client base; some of which include, train operators, rolling stock owners and train manufacturers.
Location (s): Various across UK, North, Midlands, South
Role and Responsibilities:
- Able and competent in providing advice / support to customers on areas of fleet maintenance.
- The candidate will need to be able write clear and concise VMI's for either new or revised regimes
- By the use of risk assessment be able to defer or extend the maintenance and overhaul intervals while reducing maintenance and overhaul costs.
- Review of maintenance plans for compliance for the purpose of verification or other regulatory approvals
- To use your knowledge of fleet maintenance to support in Franchise bids
- Managing or supporting allocated tasks, including estimating, planning, tendering, and execution
- To be the focal point for technical maintenance products and services, in particular in areas of personal expertise and knowledge for your colleagues
The Candidate
Our client is seeking an engineer who has experience in a similar role who demonstrates key technical skills and is confident in client-facing activities. Your strong technical skills combined with your experience within rolling stock will ensure you are thoroughly challenged and continuously supported through your professional and personal development.
Essentials
- Extensive experience within rolling stock, 5 years+
- Experience of devising new maintenance or overhaul regimes.
- Ability to assess assignment risks and how they can be managed (including technical, contractual and financial)
- Excellent communication skills, and in particular the ability to write with clear and concise text
Desirable:
- Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
- A degree within an engineering discipline would be preferred, however candidates demonstrating strong industry experience will be considered.
