Our client are seeking to hire a Geologist in Yorkshire or the West Midlands on permanent staff basis

You will have:
BSc level (or equivalent) in Geological/Earth or Environmental Science. MSc in related subject would be advantageous.
With 3+ years relevant experiences in ground investigation within a ground investigation contracting organisation, covering infrastructure and industrial clients, with an aspiration for consultancy work
Full UK driving licence
Knowledge of UK/EU standards
Competent in soil logging to BS5930
Track record of managing the delivery of ground investigations, including production of Ground Investigation Reports, for civil design schemes/geo-environmental. Ideally with experience of working within the rail environment having held PTS.

You will:
Excellent understanding of UK geology, with a good understanding of superficial geology and its implications to civil/geotechnical designs.
Knowledge and experience of engineering geomorphology
Competent in the production of ground models, with experience in producing 3D geological ground models beneficial. Experience in the use of Holebase SI beneficial.
Excellent communication skills
Excellent report writing skills
Understanding of ground engineering and geotechnical/geo-environmental risks
Aspiring to become a chartered geologist.

Main duties
" Data collection, manipulation and interpretation of geological, geotechnical and chemical data as part of ground investigations
" Preparation of geological and geotechnical desk studies, ground investigation reports
" Design, procurement and supervision of ground investigations
