Our client are currently looking to recruit a Highways Structures Engineer to work in the Humber area of North East Lincolnshire. Required to take a leading role in the delivery of the Councils' Highway Asset Management programme, you will manage both policy and strategy for the maintenance of Highways Structures, in alignment with both local and national objectives. Project Managing Major Highways or Structures Capital Works, you will be required to manage budgets and costs, both in the short-term and longer-term life cycle, for the maintenance and improvement of highway structures. You will also be pivotal in the submittal of bids for additional Capital Funding from external sources such as DfT, Local LEPs and the Local Authority. There is a requirement to attend Out of Hour call outs for vehicle strikes to Highway Structures.

The ideal candidate will be educated to HND/HNC, or Degree level in Civil Engineering, and will be working towards or will already have achieved Chartered Engineer status. With experience of working on Highways Structures within Local Authority services or for an Engineering Consultancy, you will be well equipped in safe work practices, CDM and Health & Safety Legislation. Possessing a thorough understanding of the principles of Asset Management, you will have good working knowledge of Bridge Strengthening, Maintenance and Repair Techniques. Ideally post qualified in Highways Structure Design and Construction, you will be well placed to provide expert Highway advice to professional services. Communicating effectively with the public, as well attendance at council meetings, you will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
