THE COMPANY

This company is a Global OEM with a prestigious manufacturing site based in the North East and they are looking for you! An experienced IT Support Engineer who is able to come in and hit the ground running supporting their IT systems and users across the UK.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

You will be an experienced 1st / 2ndline support engineer able to provide desktop support and problem management in an organisationally complex environment. You'll have extensive experience of supporting AD (Active Directory), account creation, deletion and admin and knowledge of SCCM (System Centre Configuration Manager) to deploy software to large groups of computers running Windows.

You’ll support 500+ users across multiple sites across the UK with their PC’s, Laptops, Tablets, Mobile devices and Voice and Video Conferencing Systems with the ability to communicate effectively with all internal stakeholders. You’ll get the opportunity to lead and take part in desktop and infrastructure projects as well as service improvement activities across the business. This is will be a fast paced and demanding role so only apply if you are ready to keep up!

THE ROLE

Day to day you’ll be based in Newton Aycliffe however, on occasion you will be required to travel to other sites across the UK so flexibility is required at times. This Senior IT Support Engineer role will require you to have excellent customer facing skills and be able to build a great rapport within the Manufacturing organisation. You will Analyse call statistics and SLA to ensure a good service is being provided, provide leadership/mentoring to the IT Client Support Engineers and Manage workload of business group team, ensuring that support cover is available and that the service is meeting the expected business requirements

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • ITIL or equivalent experience
  • Experienced in providing 2nd line client PC systems support for a multi-site organisation (> 500 persons)
  • Wintel Hardware - PC Management -– PC build automation
  • Win 7/10 – In depth knowledge of the OS
  • Solid understanding and experience of administering the following…
  • Microsoft Back Office Systems (Active Directory / Exchange)
  • Mobile Device Management
  • Remote Access systems
  • Networking – DNS, DHCP, File sharing, Printing, LAN/WLAN
  • Voice Systems
  • AV – end point protection – managing vulnerabilities
  • A high degree of competency in problem assessment and solving within an ITIL Support Service framework
  • Extensive practical experience in supporting a complex environment of desktops and business applications
  • A basic understanding of project management practices.

Desirable Requirements

  • SAP client - support, deployment
  • Have worked in a Manufacturing environment, familiar with production processes and warehousing technologies. i.e.. barcode scanning technologies
  • Familiarity with Cisco family of network products
  • Experience with scripting and IT automation.
  • Knowledge of mobile platforms and integration with Exchange.
  • Experience of Voice and Video Conferencing Systems
