The Company

Our client is a specialist in the design and installation of Modifications to Rolling Stock including WiFi, GSMR, PIS and CCTV as well as mechanical upgrades ranging from seats and luggage racks to the more technical elements of mechanical rolling stock. They have been around for a number of years and are now really making a name for themselves winning work all around the country from a variety of extremely satisfied TOCs and ROSCOs. The time has come to welcome additional ex-Forces personnel to this family feel company to encourage further growth.

Your Role

As an Installation Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that the Rolling Stock returns to its owners / operators in the best condition possible. With the best performing Wi-Fi, the most secure CCTV and the finest interiors. Let’s not make out that it’s all fun and games though!! The work is repetitive. There are challenges you will need to overcome in relation to technical drawings and you will be expected to have enough about you to speak up when you something needs looking at or changing. You are not just another body. As Installation Engineer you play a critical part in the satisfaction of the customer when it comes to handing back the new and improved Rolling Stock. Its people like you that will influence the long-term growth of this ambitious company.

You

As an Installation Engineer you will most likely have just left (or about to leave) the RAF, Army or Navy and will have completed an Engineering Apprenticeship or have at least NVQ Level 3. Ideally dual-skilled but if not don’t worry. You will be passionate about success and will be looking for your entry into the thriving industry of Rolling Stock to begin a long and satisfying career away from the Forces. The clients projects vary from 2 months to 18 months and as an Installation Engineer you can be anywhere in the UK covering Bristol, London, Midlands and Scotland so you will be expected to travel with them (sometimes at short notice). If you aren’t up for this then please don’t apply. You will be wasting your time.

Your Reward

As the latest addition to this expanding organisation the selected Installation Engineer will receive an hourly rate of between £18 and £22 and will be given the opportunity to travel the country working on a variety of different rolling stock. Good people are extremely valued and very looked after here. Once in (if you perform) you won’t want to leave, but if you ever do you will have a variety of projects and Rolling Stock on your CV all from this one contract!!!
